World Children's Day - November 20, 2024

Every child has the right to be safe – at home, on the streets, and especially at school. School should not only be a place of learning, but also a place of protection and peace. Let's do everything we can to make this a reality for every child!

International Day Against Bullying and School Violence – 7 November 2024

Millions of children around the world face school violence and bullying, including cyberbullying, which negatively impacts their health, well-being and learning. This year, UNESCO is organizing the fifth International Day for the Elimination of Violence and Bullying in Schools, which aims to bring together all stakeholders – students, parents, educators and organizations – to create safe and inclusive learning environments.

The theme for 2024 is “Protect, Educate, Empower: A Call for Students for Safe and Inclusive Schools.” This message emphasizes the importance of children’s and young people’s perspectives in shaping education systems and calls for joint action to prevent all forms of school violence.

How can you join? Wear matching socks!

Zsolt Vencel Kovács, a Hungarian dancer from the world-famous Béjart Ballet, invites us to show our solidarity with the victims by wearing matching socks in November. This small gesture symbolizes that we stand against violence and celebrate everything that makes us special and unique.

Share your story!

Let's talk openly about the problem! If you are being bullied, contact a professional - a school psychologist or teacher can help. If you have experienced a similar situation, share your experiences and show an example of how you can overcome difficulties.

By working together, schools and communities can create a safe and supportive environment for all students to grow and thrive.

Join the movement and take action against school violence and bullying!
